If you have objected pursuant to § 16 DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 21(1) GDPR), a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

Cookies
Our website uses what are known as "cookies." Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted once your visit ends. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Cookies can be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services provided by third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to evaluate user behavior or for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are required for the execution of the electronic communication process, for the provision of certain functions you wish to use (e.g. the shopping cart function), or for the optimization of the website (e.g. cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of § 5(2)(g) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), unless another legal basis is stated. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and § 25(1) TDDDG); consent can be revoked at any time.
You can configure your browser to notify you when cookies are set and to allow cookies only in individual cases, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and to enable the automatic deletion of cookies when you close your browser. Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), insofar as your inquiry relates to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries addressed to us, § 5(2)(g) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or on your consent (§ 5(2)(b) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)) if this was requested; consent can be revoked at any time.
The data you send us through contact inquiries remains with us until you ask us to delete it, you revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been fully processed). 08Our Own Services
Handling of Applicant Data
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g. by email, by mail, or via an online application form). Below, we inform you about the scope, purpose, and use of your personal data collected as part of the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing, and use of your data takes place in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions, and that your data is treated with strict confidentiality.
Scope and Purpose of Data Collection
If you send us an application, we process your associated personal data (e.g. contact and communication details, application documents, notes from interviews, etc.) insofar as this is necessary for a decision on establishing an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is § 26 BDSG under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), § 5(2)(i) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) (general contract initiation), and — if you have given consent — § 5(2)(b) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Consent can be revoked at any time. Your personal data is disclosed within our organization only to persons involved in processing your application.
If the application is successful, the data you have submitted will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of § 26 BDSG and § 5(2)(i) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for the purpose of carrying out the employment relationship.
Data Retention Period
If we are unable to offer you a position, if you decline a job offer, or if you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you submitted, on the basis of our legitimate interests under § 5(2)(g) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), for up to 6 months from the conclusion of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application). The data will then be deleted and physical application documents destroyed. This retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it becomes apparent that the data will be needed after the 6-month period has expired (e.g. due to an impending or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place once the purpose for the extended retention no longer applies.
Longer retention may also take place if you have given corresponding consent, § 5(2)(b) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), or if statutory retention obligations preclude deletion.
09Our Social Media Presence
This privacy policy applies to the following social media presences: https://www.facebook.com/freudenstadt.church and https://www.instagram.com/freudenstadt.church/
Data Processing by Social Networks
We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. The specific social networks we use can be found below.
Social networks such as Facebook, X, etc. can generally analyze your user behavior extensively when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g. like buttons or advertising banners). Visiting our social media presences triggers numerous data-protection-relevant processing operations. Specifically: if you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media platform can associate this visit with your user account. However, your personal data may in some cases also be collected even if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media platform. In this case, this data collection takes place, for example, via cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.
Using the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media platforms can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. This makes it possible to show you interest-based advertising both within and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, the interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or have been logged in.
Please also note that we cannot track all processing operations on the social media platforms. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media platforms. Details on this can be found in the terms of use and privacy policies of the respective social media platforms.
Legal Basis
Our social media presences are intended to ensure the most comprehensive possible presence on the internet. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of § 5(2)(g) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which are to be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g. consent within the meaning of § 5(2)(b) DSO-GeGo (cf. Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)).
Controller and the Exercise of Rights
When you visit one of our social media presences (e.g. Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered by this visit.
You can generally exercise your rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media platform (e.g. against Facebook).
Please note that, despite joint responsibility with the social media platform operators, we do not have full control over the data processing operations of the social media platforms. Our options are largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider.
Storage Duration
Data collected directly by us via the social media presence is deleted from our systems as soon as you ask us to delete it, you revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them.
Mandatory statutory provisions — in particular retention periods — remain unaffected.
We have no influence on the storage duration of your data that is stored by the operators of the social networks for their own purposes. For details, please refer directly to the operators of the social networks (e.g. in their privacy policy, see below).
